The guy at the machine shop that is rebuilding the axles on the Datsun 240z asked me how to spell Datsun.
Yes you heard it right here folks, area man doesn’t know how to spell Datsun.
Thank god It wasn’t a part for an Eagle Premier , or god forbid a Renault Alliance.

Someone at work, at most 3-4 years younger than me, was trying to tell me about this really funny new show on Netflix she just started watching.
It was T he Office. I think some people just go through life living in their own private world.

In his defense, I once spelled it “Datzun”.

make sure he knows it’s from a country that doesn’t use freedom units? lest you find every hole re-tapped to SAE

Datsun was smart enough to use standard parts for the important stuff.

Dat, Son, is not how you spell Datsun.
A mate of mine once had Datsun 240 that he tried to keep running for way too long. He called it Black Hole Sun.

I never did understand why Datsun became Nissan one day.
![]() 06/24/2019 at 22:47 |

It was always Nissan, I think that Nissan didn’t want to tarnish their name if Datsun failed in the US, or something along those lines.

No, I knew that. I meant in the sense that it became Nissan branding in our market all of a sudden.

Because they introduced the Nissan Rogue, one SUV to rule them all.

Because in the 80's they decided it was time to merge the brands into one to rule them all.
And it wasn’t sudden, for a couple of years early 80's cars have Datsun by Nissan badges

The decision seemed sudden and arbitrary to kid me but yeah
